The Baby Shower Kimono

Well, when buying the yarn for the kimono, the LYS owner and myself calculated yardage and determined that 2 balls was more than enough. Sure.......
So, Friday night, I was about 2-3 inches from being done and guess what. Ding, Ding!!! We have a winner! Yes, I ran out of yarn. So, I apologized profusely to Katie (mom-to-be) and promised it as soon as the other ball of yarn came in. So, now I'm just waiting for the new yarn. But, the bib (remember it?)

had it's button replaced with a baseball button and was a total hit at the shower. You would have thought that I'd picked and woven the cotton for the thing myself!
I've been evaluating what projects to work on. I've decided that my next project is going to be a golf club cover thing. I have been waiting on the yarn to come in and then I'm going to hand dye it because I couldn't find the color I wanted for it.
After that, I think my Hurricane Sock Pal sock will be worked on. I can't wait to show you guys the yarn, but I don't want to spoil the surprise in case my spoilee has figured me out. It's some yarn from Scout, and it's gorgeous!
Then, I have a shawl that I started (for my knitting group on Thursday nights!), and I have finished my dad's sock #1 and will have to come up with a mate by September.
Things have been crazy lately, so not much knitting has been accomplished. Work has been at a maximum of crazy and some babysitter issues have also left me drained!
I have a trip coming up in two weeks for training and will hopefully get to meet Christy, and then before you know it the qualifying for the election I will be throwing my hat into will be starting. The election takes place in October, but the qualifying and fee payment is in August.
So, hopefully I'll have a finished kimono pic for y'all next week and maybe a golf club cover thing as well!

I bet the baby bib was a hit especially since it's handknitted and with cute baseball buttons! Great idea to do that! Neat, a golf club cover. Look forward to seeing that. You sound as busy as I do.

Didn't your momma tell you to get one more ball than you think you need? Oh yeah, my momma didn't either ;-) Oh well. I always underestimate projects!
I feel your pain.

Oh dear. That's as bad as me having to start a new ball of yarn just to sew it together. Hmmm, bet you're thinking, like I was, that maybe those arms didn't need to be so long, or something. haha. Sorry, though. Wow, it will be fun to hear what kind of office you are running for!

Baby Bib turned out cute..Doncha hate it when you get so close and run out of yarn.. I have done that a few times miscalculated and ended up just frogging the whole thing. At least your getting another ball of yarn!!! All those projects you got going on..Cant wait to see more.

It's a shame you ran out of yarn, but at least you can get more. I'm sure she won't mind waiting.

The bib is fantastic, I'm not surprised it was a hit.

You have such mad skill with the picking and spinning of the cotton like that! ;D Even with out all of that extra effort - those bibs are crazy cute (esp. with cool buttons)!
