Happy Birthday Cupcake!
Well, the first birthday party went really well. Lots and lots of cupcakes. I am totally exhausted from making all of these. There were about 150 in all. I baked most of them in the last 3 weeks and froze them. All of the cupcakes with buttercream and chocolate icing were iced on Friday night, and the cream cheese ones were mostly done on Saturday. So, the absence of blogging and knitting is totally because of the preparation for this party. Now I am completely wiped out! 
This cupcake stand (tier, whatever) was purchased at Hobby Lobby and was an excellent way to display the cupcakes. On the bottom tier we have chocolate cupcakes with either buttercream or oreo cream cheese. The middle tier is yellow cake with chocolate icing, and the top tier is another oreo cupcake.
Here we have my chocolate with hot pink cream cheese and chocolate sprinkles "I love the 80s" cupcakes. (Hey Jamie...these are what Hicks needs for his birthday next year.) Also, we have more Oreo cupcakes. Second tier is strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese icing.
Here is just a small portion of the food table. The cupcake at the top is for the birthday girl and the ones under it are chocolate with Whopper cream cheese icing and then an assortment of other cupcakes.

The birthday girl's cute cupcake dress. She got that bow off of the first gift she opened and it was by far her favorite thing about the gifts.
She has also gotten enough hair for pigtails and got some really cute pigtail bows for her birthday.
We had a blast and I think everyone really enjoyed having a variety of cupcakes to sample.

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
No posts lately because, well, no knitting. Lots and lots of baking, however. I have a freezer full of cupcakes. Red velvet, strawberry, milk chocolate, triple chocolate, and vanilla. Tomorrow morning, they will get some icing (cream cheese, buttercream, or milk chocolate), some sprinkles, and some fondant decoration (if all goes according to plan. Also, tonight a giant triple chocolate cupcake will be baked.
Why?
Because tomorrow is LittleGirl's first birthday party. Her actual birthday was yesterday, but the party is Saturday.
We went to the zoo yesterday with LittleMan and little cousin C and Nana (who is actually my aunt, but that's a story for another day). We had a blast and then chowed down at the Cracker Barrell (which was a food disaster, but again, another day).
I have lots of cute pics, which I will probably upload in a series of posts after the big day tomorrow.
We have a cupcake theme (obviously) with the cutest little cupcake dress!!
