PARTY!! Challenge and Product Reviews

This weekend we celebrated LittleMan's 6th birthday with a super fun party. His birthday is a couple of weeks away, but this is the day that worked out for everyone.

It was Mario themed. The cake, cupcakes, and cookies were made by a friend of mine and she did a fantastic job!

There were around 20 kids and parents and family there. It was a BIG party. We had an absolute blast!!

The husband and Little Girl rode in one go kart and the birthday boy and I were in another. FUN!!!

LittleGirl also got to hang out with her two BFFs (my running friend Jennifer's two girls)

Then, the morning after the party, LM had a new surprise waiting for him. This beauty was born sometime early in the morning.

So, we started the imprinting process as we have with a few other colts who think LM is the bomb. I think this colt will be no different.

Fun stuff!!

I am proud to report that I got in a run/walk yesterday and a run today at lunch! WOO HOO!! I'm back in the game. Today's run was a really great one and my legs felt awesome. I love when it works out that way. My mileage is slowly climbing for the year. I'm behind where I want to be to get in 500 miles in 2010, but I'm not giving up.

Amanda has issued a really fun challenge. You pick three changes to make for the next month and there are points to earn and accumulate (woo hoo Staci!!) and prizes. So, go on over there and get in on the action.

My three goals are as follows:

  1. Apply sunscreen before running. This is something I have not really been that good at EVER in my life and I really need to get better. This is important in the long term even more now that I spend more time outside than in recent years.

  2. Clean out the clothes in my dresser that are too big. I did this in my closet and it was really good not to see those clothes as fall back clothes. Now I need to do the same in my dresser. I have whole drawers of stuff that I never even open. That's pitiful!

  3. Floss every day. Again, something I need to do on a more routine basis than I have in the past.

And finally, a couple of product reviews. Have you saw the new Skinny Cow individual servings of ice cream? They are with the individual Ben and Jerry's and those kind of things. Some are 2 Weight Watchers Points and some are 3. I have tried the Chocolate Fudge Brownie and it was soooo good. The other flavors are a caramel something, cookies and cream, and dulce de leche. They are a little pricey though.

I also finally got to take out my ifitness belt and I love it. I fit my personal phone (Blackberry Curve) in one side, some cash, a key, and my work phone (Motorola Barrage...kind of thick) on the other side. It was comfy, never rode up, never jiggled, nada. Worked great and I will be using it quite often.

On that note, I need to get a Little Girl to sleep. Good night!

Melissa

I don't think I've ever seen a Mario-themed party it looks like it was a really fun party. And how awesome is it that the colt was born the same night?

I'm looking forward to following your adventures :)

The cake looks delicious! So does the party. You and your husband threw a great party for your son!

I'm behind my mileage goal for this year too but I still have confidence I will catch up on it during the rest of the year. So will you.

I understand your three goals. I am horrible about sunscreen. I have gotten better in the am since my lotion has sunscreen in it. But at lunch I am horrible. I finally put on my outlook calendar a half hour before my lunch a reminder to put sunscreen on. It has helped a lot.
