I am devastated...but I'll get over it I guess...and a happy

Well, it's Tell it Like it Is Tuesday, so here goes.....

I am pretty devastated. I had ordered a running skirt from Running Skirts (obviously) as soon as I found out about the sale. I have heard some great stuff and I was thrilled. I sent my payment and waited. 9 days later (June 24) I got a "your order has shipped" email. YIPPEE!!!

Then I waited. And waited. And waited. So, yesterday (July 5) I emailed to check on the package and today I got an email that I had a refund from them . While I appreciate that, I'm a little confused as to how it was there, it was shipped, then it wasn't, then it was out of stock, then I had a refund. I totally understand the first come, first serve, but this has me a little puzzled......and without a running skirt at that. :(

But, on the note of GREAT (fantastic even) customer service, let's look at Garmin. I got a Garmin (who is nameless still...need to do something about that) for Christmas from my dad. About a month ago, my running partner and I (he bought his 2 weeks after mine) both had problems with batteries and not acquiring signal. Like all of a sudden at the exact same time. So, we both called customer service and were instructed to send them back to be reprogrammed and if that didn't work they would send a new one. (!wow!) So, I mailed mine regular postal service on a Monday, he mailed his UPS on a Tuesday. The very next Monday and Tuesday we received our watches in the mail good as new. What AWESOME customer service. I was so excited!

I also tried Body Glide for the first time ever and loved it. I am developing a blister on one of my toes. I think they heard I was starting my half training this week.

On that subject, day 2 is complete. I got in a great run at lunch today. Just 3 miles, but they felt really good. Mile 3 was totally in the rain....as in pouring, not a drizzle, however, that was preferable to hot as hell. By the way, I look HOTT this afternoon (if you like drowned rats). (lol)

Finally, I got the best unexpected happy Friday. I think in my last 5K recap I talked about our WW member who was trying to beat her time from her first 5K. I had went back and jogged with her to the finish cheering her on. Well, she wrote about her WW journey and her running journey in the sweetest write-up and then thanked me in it for cheering her on and inspiring her. I was all teary eyed! She wants to send it to a magazine or newspaper or something. I was so proud of her.

Anywyay, I'm long winded enough. I'm going to go drown my running skirt disappointment in Skinny Cow. Wish me luck.

Melissa

Sorry about your running skirt, but the other things were nice. And...at least you have a sense of humor about it! Your blog looks great too!

What a drag about the running skirt! I want one so badly - one of these days I will get up the nerve to order one.

So glad to hear about the great customer service from Garmin! I love mine - Ricky Bobby - you need to name yours soon! Another runner named his Big Brother because it always knows what he's doing and where he's been - too funny.

Oh, and Body Glide? I love the stuff - I use it to prevent chub rub on my thighs (how can I lose over 100 pounds and STILL have large thighs???), and I've heard it's great for the toe blisters. Love that your toes are pre-revolting!

LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog redesign! So cute and just screams who you are! Who did it?

Bummer about the running skirt but at least the Body Glide and Garmin worked out! I haven't named mine either, btw.

Errrr, frustrating about the running skirt :(. That's always how my luck turns out. That's pretty cool that Garmin does that with the watches, I will remember that if mine goes ka-put one day! Enjoy the rest of the week!

What a disappointment in RSland. Hope you can score one soon!
My Garmin went kaput days before my first marathon. They had a new one out to me in time!

Lovin' the new look over here. Hope it's not too new.. I haven't been reading blogs very regularly lately!

Sorry about the skirt...kinda weird. I haven't yet bought a skirt from them, but intend to at some point.

I had the same exact experience with my Garmin that you had. I mailed mine back, like they told me, and within a week I had a brand new Garmin in my hot, little hands.

Hope you have a fabulous week!

That blows about the running skirt. I had that happen when I ordered something online before.

Body Glide is good stuff.

You're lucky with the Garmin still being under warranty. Mine is 3 years old and stopped beeping. Garmin quoted me something like $60 just to look at it. :(

Love the updated blog..it's been FOREVER since I've visited (yours and most others..sigh...hanging head in shame!). Trying to squeeze in a few minutes today to read, comment.

Bummer about the skirt, and you're right - weird all the way around. I'm thinking Skinny Cow will make it okay, though. Does for me. LOL

Totally awesome about your WW buddy and her success, though. Way to go, helping a fellow runner to the finish line. Love doing that. :-)

Got your message about the PiF $$ going to a different cause. Of course, it goes to whomever you want it to. Just wanting to make sure we pass on our good fortune.

HUGS from Orlando!
