We are getting ready for back to school and it has been a total J-O-B getting these kids back on a schedule!! Since we have been getting ready for school, we have been reading a whole lot. That's when this started......
On the running front, it's finally hot enough that I can't run outside at lunch. On Tuesday, the high was 105 and the heat index was 120, so I chose to go to the gym instead. It was actually quite nice. I ran so much better because I wasn't about to die! I got in the 3.5 miles on my schedule and it felt great! I kept a 9:13 pace for most of the run with a pace of 8:30 for most of the last 1/2 mile!
Apparently though, my body wasn't too keen on this. I felt great Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Wednesday after lunch, my knee began to ache just a bit on the outside. By last night, I needed ice. Today when I bend it about half way, you can feel it pop and it's pretty sore. I didn't run today (wanted to though) and might tomorrow. I hope this heals quickly!

HOLY MOLY So happy you didn't run outside. 120?! I see people running outside here in 110 - and I seriously am NOT impressed ..... I'm thinking, "you are out of your mind!"
yikes a heat index of 120*...here i am complaining about 90* weather yet you have it worse. at least you went to the gym and still managed to get in a run :0
Knee pain sucks. I hope yours goes away soon. Get used to running in 120F heat and your lifetime goal of running Badwater 135 in Death Valley is that much closer... Oh wait, that's my goal. Sorry. Heal soon.

Omgoodness, she is so cute. Totally cracked me up, "No more monkeys jumping on the bed..." :). Um, 120? I'd have been inside on the treadmill 60 degrees before. Happy Weekend :).
Oh blech, 120! I was just thinking today I'm soooo much more active when it's like negative 10 outside. You can't get me to move around in the heat!
